An important general meeting of SURAT RMC ASSOCIATION was recently held in Surat city, attended by representatives of more than 40 RMC companies from Surat, Navsari, and Bardoli, along with owners associated with over 150 RMC plants.
During the meeting, several significant decisions were taken to make the Ready-Mixed Concrete (RMC) industry more organized, quality-driven, and professional.
Due to war-like situations emerging across the world, the prices of cement, aggregates, diesel, transportation, and other construction-related raw materials have been continuously rising.
As a direct impact of this, construction costs in Surat and South Gujarat have also increased significantly. Considering this situation, SURAT RMC ASSOCIATION has taken an important decision to implement standardized pricing across the industry, which will come into effect from June 1.
According to the association, unhealthy price wars and excessively low pricing can negatively impact quality. Therefore, limited standardized pricing has become necessary to maintain standardization and quality.
This decision will ensure more reliable and high-quality concrete for builders, developers, engineers, and end users, ultimately contributing to safer and stronger future development in Surat.
SURAT RMC ASSOCIATION is now emerging as a strong unified platform for the RMC industry in South Gujarat.
The primary objective behind the formation of the association is to promote healthy competition, quality benchmarks, technical knowledge sharing, and professional business practices within the industry.
Speaking with Yugen Realty, Abhishek Todi, President of SURAT RMC ASSOCIATION, said, “In today’s situation, unity and standardization have become extremely important for the industry. The objective of SURAT RMC ASSOCIATION is not merely to fix prices, but to bring quality, professionalism, and long-term sustainability across the entire industry. We are committed to ensuring strong, safe, and high-quality construction for the development of Surat and South Gujarat. The unity being demonstrated by all industry members coming together is a positive example for the entire state of Gujarat.”
The association is continuously working on various policy-related and technical issues for the betterment of the industry.
During the meeting, serious discussions were also held regarding traffic and logistics-related issues. The association has submitted a representation to the Surat Traffic Police stating that the lifespan of concrete material inside RMC mixer machines is only three hours.
Currently, certain traffic regulations applicable to heavy vehicles are also being imposed on mixer vehicles, creating difficulties in ensuring timely deliveries.
As a result, the quality and performance of concrete at construction sites may get affected. Considering this issue, the association has appealed to the traffic department to provide certain regulatory relaxations for mixer vehicles.
In the coming years, the association will also undertake various initiatives related to training programs, technical seminars, quality awareness campaigns, and overall industry development.
The vision of SURAT RMC ASSOCIATION is to establish ready-mixed concrete as the most reliable and preferred building material for future construction.
With the vision of “United for Quality. Driven by Progress.” SURAT RMC ASSOCIATION is moving forward towards making the RMC industry of South Gujarat stronger, more organized, and highly professional.
