IBM and JLL have announced new solutions powered by IBM’s Envizi technology and delivered by JLL’s sustainability services team. This new sustainability solution will be available globally.
JLL’s Sustainability Program Management, which serves the commercial real estate (CRE) sector with decarbonization strategies, will now be enhanced by the IBM Envizi ESG Suite for ESG reporting and data management.
The solution aims to address the challenges faced by organizations in the CRE sector, such as capturing and managing data across real estate portfolios for decision-making and public reporting. According to JLL’s research report, “The Green Tipping Point,” demand for corporate leases is increasingly influenced by ESG requirements, with significant changes expected in the next 12 to 24 months. By 2025, 30% of market demand for low-carbon office space will not be met, creating a tipping point for net-zero carbon targets in the lease market.
Despite this, the integration of ESG metrics into core business functions remains limited. An IBM Institute for Business Value report shows that only 20% of respondents apply ESG metrics to supply chain operations, 26% to procurement and sourcing, and only 11% integrate them into real estate and facilities management. Companies should increase the integration of these metrics to achieve sustainability goals. According to an IBM report, organizations that drive sustainability outpace their peers in profitability, being 52% more likely to retain and enjoying a 16% higher rate of income growth. A robust data management and reporting platform is essential to achieving these results.
JLL recognizes the critical role of data management and reporting software in supporting clients’ sustainability strategies. IBM Envizi is a core component of JLL’s Sustainability Program Management solution. The initial rollout will give thousands of JLL clients the opportunity to onboard IBM Envizi software, enhancing their sustainability efforts.
