Save every drop importance of groundwater conservation for future-2

Indiscriminate use of ground water resources for irrigation, industrial and other forms of commercial usage has caused fast depletion in ground water level in majority of the regions of the country.

Rapid urbanization has drastically reduced the exposed soil surface which prevents infiltration of rain in the soil to naturally replenish ground water resources.

In order to maintain the potential of ground water resources, a hydraulic dovetailing rain water harvesting and artificial recharge system is required that will augment the ground water resources.

CASE STUDIES

Case Study of SVNIT Surat

One recharge bore with 15 meter depth. Roof top of material testing lab has been diverted to Furaat sand filtration module. The system has been in place since 2009. Uptil now, 15 lakh litres of water has been recharged successfully. Water quality (TDS) was 1863 before recharge, and after recharge TDS drastically reduced to 766.

In Western Railway Surat, running room is the first railway station from Ahmedabad to Mumbai Central is the first railway station where rain water harvesting had been installed.

One of the site located at Sur Sez namely Buchi Operations India Pvt Ltd has installed the system since 2012. They are having underground water tank of one lakh liters. The rain water is stored in the tank through our Furaat Modular step well system.

Samarpan Ashram, Located at Dandi (Navsari) has an underground water tank of 4.5 lakh liters. It also saves lakhs of liters of water by using Furaat precast modular system.

It is important to think of ground water like a bank account.

We need to live on its interest (that is the water we recharge) not its capital, without abdicating our attention to recharge. We are in many areas of the country literally using our ground water reservoirs.

Water not oil it’s said will be the cause of future wars, and I am sure this will not be the case if we learn from traditional wisdom of our community on how to value each drop of water and using modern science to increase efficiency of utilization. Water then will not lead to conflict, but ensure peace, progress and prosperity.

Furaat would like to introduce itself as a design lead company in rain water harvesting and conservation. We help individuals and industries in conserving water.

We also facilitate in taking conservation initiatives under CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility). Our solution is in the form of pre cast module system that can adopt itself to various sites and conditions, are highly reliable and efficient solution.

God’s gift, rain water, should be stored, conserved and stopped from draining in to the tide/sea water. May god bless us with courage, devotion and success in preserving rain water for the survival of future generation on earth.
