The ISHRAE Surat Chapter successfully organized the Installation Ceremony for the Society Year 2026–27, marking an important milestone for the HVAC&R industry of South Gujarat.
The event was graced by industry leaders, past presidents, members, young professionals, students, and representatives of various associate societies, adding significant prestige to the occasion.
During the ceremony, the new leadership team was formally installed, along with the presentation of the vision, direction, and development roadmap for the upcoming year.
The ISHRAE Surat Chapter is the Surat chapter of the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), a leading professional organization in India working towards technical excellence in the HVAC&R industry.
The organization focuses on energy efficiency, indoor air quality, sustainability, and skill development.
Over the past several years, ISHRAE Surat Chapter has been making significant contributions towards technical knowledge sharing, professional networking, youth engagement, and overall industry development.
During the ceremony, Yash Patel officially assumed charge as the new President of ISHRAE Surat Chapter for Society Year 2026–27.
In his inaugural address, he stated that his vision is to develop ISHRAE Surat as a more active, impactful, and inclusive chapter.
Yash Patel stated, “Our main focus will be on technical learning, industry engagement, youth development, and sustainability. We will strive to build a platform where every member gets the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together.”
He further stated that youth, student, and K-12 engagement will be the key focus areas for the year.
Efforts will be made to actively involve young members through technical sessions, industrial visits, internships, networking activities, and sports events.
Special women-centric programs will also be organized to enhance female participation and provide greater leadership and networking opportunities for women.
During the program, the vision of R. Saravanan, National President of ISHRAE, was also presented along with the Society theme for 2026–29 : “Engineering a Greener Global Built Environment.” Key pillars of the theme were highlighted, including sustainable HVAC&R design, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, decarbonization, and global collaboration.
The chapter also presented its alignment with national initiatives such as “Innovate & Decarbonize,” “Elders’ Insight & Youthful Drive,” “Adopt Net Zero Energy Schools,” and “Collaborate & Digitize,” reflecting a structured roadmap for its activities and future direction.
On this occasion, outgoing President Deepak Malu reflected on his tenure and stated that the journey was the result of collective effort and trust of the entire ISHRAE family.
During his term, ISHRAE Surat Chapter achieved a significant milestone by receiving the Best Chapter Award for the first time, along with recognition for outstanding performance in membership growth and advocacy initiatives.
Deepak Malu stated, “These achievements do not belong to any one individual, but are the result of the hard work and unity of the entire team. It is only through the support of every member, the CWC team, sponsors, and supporters that we have been able to take ISHRAE Surat Chapter to new heights.”
He highlighted that events such as “URJAVARAN” and “ACRESERVE” set new benchmarks with the participation of over 400 delegates.
He also emphasized key achievements including 150% active membership growth, successful organization of RCC, revival of Student Chapters, and impactful initiatives like Miyawaki Forest Development as significant milestones.
For Society Year 2026–27, ISHRAE Surat Chapter has announced a roadmap that includes more than 20 technical programs, over 2 national events, 4 advocacy initiatives, 2 industry MOUs, and a target of 100+ members by December 2026.
Special emphasis will also be placed on youth and student engagement, women empowerment, industry collaboration, technical learning, and sustainability awareness.
At the end of the program, gratitude was expressed to all members, past presidents, associate societies, sponsors, supporters, and families.
The new leadership team expressed confidence that with a combination of experienced mentors and young professionals, ISHRAE Surat Chapter will move towards an even stronger and more impactful direction in the coming years.
