Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, has emphasized the urgent completion of the road connecting Abhava and Ubharat in preparation for the PM MITRA Park project, which is set to commence soon.
Additionally, a budget of Rs. 226 crores has been approved for the six-lane expansion of the Surat-Navsari State Highway. The Minister directed officials to fast-track the land acquisition process to ensure the timely start of construction.
A review meeting focusing on roads and bridges in Surat district was chaired by Minister C.R. Patil. Attendees included State Minister of Forest and Environment Mukesh Patel, Choriyasi MLA Sandeep Desai, and senior officials.
During the session, key instructions were issued to accelerate the Abhava-Ubharat road construction and to expedite work on the Surat-Navsari Highway expansion.
The meeting also addressed the installation of bilingual signboards in Hindi and Gujarati on the National Highway. With heavy traffic at Hazira crossroads being a persistent issue, discussions were held to find effective solutions.
The Highway Authority was instructed to expedite work at Icchapur junction and hand over the area under the Hazira crossroads bridge to the municipal corporation for beautification initiatives.
Further directives included creating parking facilities for heavy vehicles along the Icchapur-Hazira stretch of the highway.
Officials were asked to hasten the construction of flyover bridges at Budiya and Gabheni on the Dhule-Hazira Highway. Immediate removal of utility lines obstructing bridge construction at Abhava and Khajod was also ordered.
