An Inspired Contribution From A Real Estate Professional

Ghanshyam Birla’s extraordinary services have earned him over 270 awards from Governors, Union Ministers, BSF officers, Red Cross and many civic organizations. Yet he remains humble and steadfast, because in his eyes, success is valuable only when it is shared with society. His journey proves that humanity is the best investment even in a competitive field like real estate.

Trust is the greatest value in Surat’s fast-growing real estate world, and Ghanshyam Birla has earned a unique reputation in land transactions. Leading developers and builders recognize him as the most trusted land specialist due to his transparent work style. Along with farmhouse development, he also handles land work for solar and other projects in Kutch. It is a matter of pride for the industry that even after achieving success in real estate, he dedicates extraordinary time and energy to social service. Originally from Bagasara in Amreli district, Ghanshyam Vasani (Birla) has made Surat his karma bhoomi for the last three decades. He believes that true wealth is not in profit, but in touching lives. His inclination towards service began during his student days, when he served as the president of Amreli District Student Reorganization Committee.

The debt of the homeland

In 1988, while working as the president of the Amreli District Student Reorganization Committee in the homeland, Ghanshyam Birla organized the first felicitation ceremony for the brilliant students of secondary school. In the memory of his father, late Chhagan Bhagat, he took a vow to honor the brilliant students of the city for life and continues that tradition even today. In the memory of his father, a free operation camp is held every year at the eye hospital. Under the chairmanship of Union Minister Rupala ji, 500 trees have been planted with tree guards.

Swarnim Gujarat Youth Foundation: A strong platform for national service

In 2010, the formation of Swarnim Gujarat Youth Foundation in the presence of the then Municipal Commissioner Smt. S. Aparna gave a new turn to the service work of the nationalist youth of Surat, Ghanshyam Birla. As the main founder of the foundation, he made it active in areas like blood donation, health camps, de-addiction, cleanliness awareness, environment protection, educational assistance for school children and eye donation awareness. He fulfilled his social duty by laying the foundation of this foundation with many projects like Holi Diwali Raksha Bandhan celebrations with the brave soldiers of India, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan, Swachhata Abhiyan. Among his greatest contributions, blood donation is like a life mantra — he himself has donated blood 108 times. More than 25,500 bottles of blood have been collected in more than 120 camps organized under his leadership. Along with this, he has also provided free check-ups, medicines and treatment guidance through 55 health camps.

Sardar Van: A beautiful confluence of patriotism and environment

Equally important is his passion for the environment. In Surat, Birla has planted over 12,500 tall trees, each plantation drive involving nurturing and protection. One of his most notable contributions is the creation of the 2,500-tree “Sardar Van” on the Jaisalmer border – a powerful blend of patriotism and environmental consciousness.

Sardar Patel’s statue unveiled in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time in 75 years of independence

The first Sardar Patel statue in 75 years of independence was unveiled at the Srinagar BSF campus during the 2025 tour of the Pakistan Jammu and Kashmir border, paying a unique tribute to Sardar Saheb by naming the park ‘Sardar Patel Park’.

Border love and steadfast resolve to serve the country

Patriotism is a strong pillar of Ghanshyam Birla’s identity. For many years, he has been celebrating Diwali with BSF personnel by visiting the country’s borders including Kutch, Jaisalmer, Nadabet and Kashmir. In every visit, he presents sweets, coolers, caps, tiffin boxes, fans, water bottles and many other essential items. Also, in the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan, he presented 5000 Tirangas at the Kutch border on the appeal of IG Karchh Sanjay Kumar Srivastava. He has installed statues of Sardar Patel in Laskana, Nawagam and Jaisalmer BSF campuses, expressing his deep respect for him.

Family programs, but a message of service

Ghanshyam Birla has also linked important family moments with service work. For the wedding of his son Sagar, he organized a blood donation camp and tree plantation, took a pledge of body donation from every member of the family, and donated the amount received for the education of girls. In 2012, when his father passed away, he organized a blood donation camp in the condolence meeting and gifted Tulsi plants to the visitors.

Birthday Celebration

In his birthday celebration, he also showed his resolve to serve and insured 1250 people by paying the premium of Prime Minister’s Insurance Protection. He celebrated by donating land in Valak Patiya Patel Samaj Hostel, adopting a daughter for education in Sardardham Ahmedabad, distributing Sukhdi to pregnant sisters at Surat Civil Hospital and distributing educational kits to Utran Anganwadi children.

Service resolution for the coming years To make up for the severe shortage of blood donations in India, a database of 1 crore blood donors from across the country is to be created.

As part of the celebration of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary, to create 150 Sardar Vans for environmental awareness, to make educational arrangements for the children of our brave martyred soldiers and to organize seminars for the duty towards the nation and building a strong India among the children of schools and colleges and to intensify the addiction-free campaign for the youth, Swarnim Gujarat Youth Foundation, Surat has a firm resolve.
